How to Clean Navajo Churro Wool

June 11 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm

The Navajo Churro sheep wool is ideal for rug weaving. An important step of the wool preparation process is cleaning the wool. Luckily, the wool does not contain much lanolin which makes it easy to clean. Western National Parks Association staff member and weaver, Ilene Naegle, will demonstrate her process and workflow of skirting and cleaning the raw wool sheared from Hubbell’s flock of Churro sheep.
