Mess & Muster

April 30 @ 1:00 pm - 8:00 pm

Mess and Muster is the annual meeting of The Fort Larned Old Guard, Fort Larned’s friends’ group. All talks and programs are open to the public, although dinner does require a reservation and a fee. Masks are required for all indoor activities.   
 
9:00 am – Board Meeting

Fort Larned (Officers Quarters or Visitor’s Center)  Everyone is welcome!  

Afternoon – Visit the Bakery, Barracks, Black Smith, Officer’s Quarters and more!  

1:00 to 1:30 pm – Cannon Firing Talk and Demonstration

Behind the Quartermaster Building.  

1:30 to 2:00 pm – Nicholas Nolan – Who Was He? A Wife’s View 
Reenactment by Kristin Keith, in the Visitor’s Center

2:15 to 2:45pm  – The Nolan Pistol
Presentation by George Elmore, Chief Ranger, in the Visitor Center

3:00 to 3:45 pm – Female Buffalo Soldier: The Traditional Story and the Rest of the Story

Although the afternoon events and the evening program require no reservation, if you’d like to have dinner before the evening program, please contact Leo Oliva at 785-425-7312, or [email protected] to make a reservation. The deadline for dinner reservations is Friday, April 22, 2022.
The programs are all free to the public, however there is a cost for the dinner before the evening program.
