Park Rangers celebrating, birthday hats and horns

You all love our parks, and you have visited many, but do you know much about the inner workings of the National Park Service (NPS) and the 423 areas in this agency?

As the National Park Service turns 106 on August 25, join WNPA and Butch Farabee to learn the ins and outs of the NPS from an insider’s perspective! What’s the difference between a national park and a national monument? How are parks organized?

Retiring in 2000 with 35 years of National Park Service experience and management, including working in 11 different NPS areas, going from Trail Crew in 1961 to Ranger to Superintendent. Butch will expose you to the basic framework and some of the inner workings of our national parks and the agency that manages them. He has authored five books about ranger history and the national parks.

Prepare to have all of your national park questions answered!
