Watrous, NM: Please join Fort Union National Monument staff for a ribbon-cutting ceremony to officially unveil the newly renovated visitor center exhibit area at 10:30 am, Saturday, December 3, 2022.
The completed project provides visitors a multicultural understanding of the changes brought about by the US – Mexican War, Fort Union and US Military, Civil War, Indian Wars, Santa Fe Trail, and the American Indian and Hispanic-cultures of the region. The renovated 1,600-square-foot exhibit hall has further improved accessibility and orientation in the first major redesign of the original 1960 facility.
