Outreach & community engagement

Working with the community.

Whether it's their first trip, their 1,000th trip, or they haven't yet visited a national park, Western National Parks connects people with these beautiful, inspiring, and historic places. We participate in community events, maintain a lively social media presence, and offer our expertise promoting the national parks and helping people plan their trip. These efforts connect people to our American treasures and help them understand how important and accessible national parks are. We want everyone to experience their national parks and feel how powerful they truly are.

WNP supported an intern at San Antonio Mission National Historical Park to welcome thousands of students to the park through field trips.

WNP supported the Head Start program at Lyndon B. Johnson National Historical Park, making it possible for youth to visit the park and learn about an important figure in United States history.

Annually, WNP supports community festivals like the Fiesta de Tumacácori, Astrofest at Black Canyon of the Gunnison, and Native American Heritage Festivals at many parks including Tuzigoot, Montezuma Castle, and Aztec Ruins National Monuments.

Tucson Festival of Books

In 2024, we provided $30K+ to the Tucson Festival of Books, with 130K+ in attendance. As a long-time major sponsor, our pavilion offers author talks, fun activities, and meaningful ways to connect with and support national parks.
