Embark on a family-friendly Utah adventure this summer, featuring cave explorations, interactive museum experiences, and stunning natural wonders near Salt Lake City. Experience Timpanogos Cave National Monument, the chance to see wildlife at local state parks, and learn about the natural history of the Beehive State.

Day 1 :

Timpanogos Cave National Monument

Get oriented

Stop by the visitor center to check in for your tour and enjoy family-friendly exhibits, including a miniature cave.

Tour the caves

Hike the 1.5-mile trail to the cave entrance with a park ranger, then tour the cave to learn about its unique formations, especially the web-like helictite formations.

Go deep

Timpanogos Cave is full of fascinating geological wonders. Learn about the process that formed this unique cave and how you can help preserve it during your cave tour.

Day 2 :

Science in Salt Lake City

Explore awe-inspiring exhibits

Spend the morning at the Natural History Museum of Utah, where interactive exhibits showcase the state’s rich paleontological history and cutting-edge scientific discoveries.  Participate in hands-on science activities, including Our Backyard, a full sensory exhibit aimed at kids. Check with museum staff to learn about special classes and events for young scientists.

Walk through these beautiful botanical gardens, located near the museum, and explore trails that highlight Utah’s native plants and ecosystems.

Day 3 :

Another Day in the City

Space and wildlife exploration in Salt Lake City

Start the morning at the Clark Planetarium, where you can engage with free space-themed exhibits. Watch IMAX and Full Dome shows for an additional charge. Or if your family has more fun outside, check out the Hogle Zoo.
