Annual Kane Christmas Bird Count
Join us for the Bighorn Canyon Annual Kane Christmas Bird Count!
Participants should plan to meet at the Bighorn Canyon Visitor Center in Lovell, WY at 7:00 a.m. The bird count forms are due back to the Visitor Center by 3:00 p.m.
Everyone is welcome - no expertise required. Bring a friend! If you are interested in birding, but are unsure of your indentification skills, you will be teamed up with others who have birding skills.
The Kane Christmas Bird Count Circle is centered around the old town of Kane and extends from roughly Moncur Springs on the west side to Sand Draw near Lovell. It includes a good portion of the Yellowtail Habitat.
Please Note: Phesant Season will still be open, don't forget your hunter blaze orange.
What to Bring:
- Binoculars or Spottingscopes
- Bird Books or Identification Guides
- Camera
- Clipboard & Writing Utensil
- Warm Clothing & Footwear
- Lunch & Plenty of Water and/or Warm Drinks
- Blaze Orange Article of Clothing
