Birding at the Forked Lightning Ranch

Join us for a morning of birding together along the Pecos River, on the grounds of the historic Forked Lightning Ranch. We’ll look for spring birds, celebrate the start of migration season, and discover the connection between birds and stars.

The walk is less than 1 mile, including some uneven terrain, stairs, and mild bushwacking. Beginners are welcome and binoculars are available for loan.

Meet at visitor center and caravan (drive your own vehicle) to the site. Please note the historic ranch road cannot accommodate trailers or RVs.
