Big Thicket National Preserve

Fishing Canoe Trip

Go fishing while you canoe!

This special ranger-led canoe trip is aimed toward people who enjoy or want to try fishing while taking a leisurely trip on the water. We'll paddle along a Big Thicket waterway and stop to fish from the bank. Bring your fishing gear or borrow ours! No prior canoeing or fishing experience needed.

Canoes, life jackets, paddles, and fishing gear are provided. Visitors are asked to bring water, snacks, and water shoes. Canoe trips start in the morning (actual start time depends on the season) and take 3-4 hours.

The location of the canoe trip will be provided upon registration. Please call the visitor center at 409-951-6700 to reserve your spot.
