Guided Hike: South Point Day Use Area

Join us for a guided hike at South Point Day Use Area on Saturday, November 29th. On this hike we will learn about the petroglyphs, geology, and wildlife of the area.

Meet at the South Point Trailhead at 10 am. There are vault toilets in the parking lot, but no water available. Bring plenty of water with you and dress for the weather. Wear comfortable, sturdy hiking shoes. Binoculars will be helpful for spotting wildlife and viewing petroglyphs.

Directions to the South Point Day Use Area from the Visitor Information Center:

From the Visitor Information Center, exit the main parking lot and take a right turn on Unser Blvd., heading south.

Taken Unser Blvd. to Tierra Pintada Blvd. Take a right on Tierra Pintada, heading west.

Drive on Tierra Pintada Blvd. Until you get to Mirehaven Parkway.

The entrance gates to the Southpoint Day Use Aea Trailhead will be immediately on your left.

Follow the entrance road past the large sign and into the parking lot. There are no parking or entrance fees.
