Sunset Hike (West District)
Meet at the Sendero Esperanza Trailhead 15 minutes before the hike begins. Participants must wear closed-toe shoes and appropriate clothing, carry sufficient water, and bring a headlamp. This hike is approximately 3.5 miles with 700 feet of elevation gain and includes switchbacks. The hike lasts about 3 hours and 45 minutes. A ranger will guide participants along the Sendero Esperanza Trail to the ridgeline while discussing native plants and the natural history of the Sonoran Desert. Sunset viewing will take place from the ridgeline, followed by a guided return to the trailhead with the ranger. No reservation is required.
