Why Turn Left at Albuquerque?
Abraham Santillanes will be presenting, "Why Turn Left at Albuquerque? Albuquerque, Route 66, and the many roads that came before." He will discuss Coronado's expedition, Onate's El Camino Real, and Becknell's Santa Fe Trail. All these routes eventually led to or through Albuquerque. Later, the railroads and Route 66 cemented Albuquerque's significance as a modern city in the Southwest with hundreds of years of history. Presentation will be located at the Information Center, outside on the patio with limited shade.
