Day 1 :

Day 2 :

San Antonio Missions National Historical Park

Start at the visitor center

Begin your second day at the San Antonio Missions National Historical Park Visitor Center at Mission San José. Learn about the history of Spanish missions in Texas, watch an orientation film, and pick up maps for the day’s explorations.

Explore the missions

Take a self-guided or ranger-led tour of Mission San José before visiting the other missions in the park: Mission Concepción, Mission San Juan, and Mission Espada, each with unique architectural and historical significance.

Hike or bike the Mission Reach Trail

This paved trail takes you through a restored ecosystem with opportunities for viewing wildlife, and is a great way to get to and from each mission by foot. 

Day 3 :

Presidential history at Lyndon B. Johnson National Historical Park

Start at the visitor center

Drive 70 miles to Lyndon B. Johnson National Historical Park Visitor Center in Johnson City. Explore exhibits on LBJ's life and presidency and tour his childhood home with a ranger.

Tour the LBJ Ranch

Take a self-guided driving tour to see the one-room schoolhouse, LBJ’s childhood home, the historic Johnson family cemetery, and the Texas White House, which served as the 36th president’s home away from Washington, D.C.
