Great Basin National Park

Constellation Connections

Come join a ranger on a tour of the stars to learn about the constellations and the stories associated with them. Program meets at the Baker Access Trail across from the Great Basin Visitor Center in Baker, Nevada.

Know Before You Arrive:

The program is weather dependent and may be cancelled due to lightning for everyone's safety.

The trail is made of compacted dirt with scattered rocks and is uneven ground. Wheelchair access will depend on model and user’s comfort.

There is no seating at the program location. Visitors are encouraged to bring their own chairs for their comfort during the talk.

Visitors are encouraged to bring jackets or blankets as desert nights can be chilly and the area is subject to variable winds.

The program takes place at night on a dark trail. While there will be red lights leading the way along the trail, visitors are encouraged to bring their own red lights as well to mitigate the risk of tripping as they go to and from the talk.

White lights are prohibited during the program. White lights will disrupt night vision and increase the risk of trips and falls along the trail.
