In-Person Presentation | Migratory Bird Study Overview with Sky Island Alliance
Program Description
Join Eamon Harrity and Western National Parks to learn more about a project by Sky Island Alliance (SIA) that bridges grassland bird conservation and regenerative ranching in Sonora.
The Sky Island region's grasslands are increasingly important habitat for migratory birds. But much of these areas, especially in Sonora, are also dedicated to cattle ranching. Since 2024, SIA has worked collaboratively with ranchers and land stewards to conduct winter grassland bird monitoring, educate about the importance of grassland habitats, and to implement restorative projects to increase habitat for threatened birds, all while creating more resilient and productive ranches.
Free. Registration required. Space is limited to 60 registrants.
