In-Person Presentation | The Infamous Yosemite Plane Crash of 1976
Join Butch Farabee, retired NPS Ranger, for a lecture on one of the most bizarre incidents to occur in Yosemite National Park. In December 1976, a large plane full of drugs disappeared into an isolated high-elevation lake. The crash was not discovered for six weeks, and three tons of marijuana and two pilots remained under the ice for over six months. Farabee played a pivotal role in the recovery effort. With elements of tragedy and comedy, this story will illuminate and entertain.
