Salinas Pueblo Missions National Monument

Salinas Pueblo Missions joins the Sunflower Festival in Mountainair!

Salinas Pueblo Missions National Monument is excited to participate in this year’s Sunflower Festival in the Town of Mountainair on Saturday, August 29th!

Park staff will have a community table where visitors can explore the deep cultural history of the Salinas region and learn about the park’s programs and upcoming events. As part of the Sunflower Festival, our team will have unique and free sunflower themed activities! Including making sunflower seed bombs, and sunflower necklaces or bracelets along with free resources, answering questions, and engaging with visitors of all ages!

This tabling event offers a great opportunity to meet park staff and interns, discover upcoming events, and celebrate not only the Sunflower Festival but the cultural traditions that shape our region. Whether you are a long-time supporter of Salinas Pueblo Missions, or you are learning about the park for the first time, everyone is invited to stop by, say hello, have fun and explore! We look forward to joining the Mountainair community for a day of fun, sun, learning, and celebration!

Programs include:

  • Connect with Salinas Pueblo Missions park staff and interns at our Outreach Table.
  • Make your own sunflower seed bomb!
  • Create a custom necklace or bracelet at our craft station!
  • Discover more about Salinas Pueblo Missions and upcoming events!
