Juan Bautista de Anza National Historic Trail

Santa Rosa and San Jacinto Mountains National Monument Anza 250 Hike

As part of the America 250-year celebration – we will be leading a special educational tour of a few points of interest along a portion of the Juan Bautista de Anza National Historic Trail corridor. The program shares stories of the historic Juan Bautista de Anza expedition that began 250 years ago, that spanned over 1,000 miles of the southwest. We will stop at a few points of interest and take short hikes at each stop; talking about the remote landscapes within the Santa Rosa and San Jacinto Mountains that early settlers had to navigate, as well as the historical importance that this expedition had with its profound impact on the cultural and political landscapes of the United States.

This is an easy hike on short segments at various points of interest along the Highway 74 corridor.
