Channel Islands National Park

Channel Islands
Five remarkable islands and their ocean environment preserve and protect a wealth of natural and cultural resources. Isolation over thousands of years has protected animals, plants, and cultural resources found nowhere else on Earth and helped protect a place where you can experience coastal southern California as it once was.

Explore Channel Islands National Park

Channel Islands National Park protects five islands—San Miguel, Santa Rosa, Santa Cruz, Santa Barbara, and Anacapa—nearly 250 thousand acres, multiple cultural heritage sites, and a great diversity of marine and terrestrial species. These serene and striking landscapes have been inhabited for thousands of years and are held sacred by the Chumash and Tongva peoples.
