Be ready for the hike
The steep 1.5-mile trail to the cave entrance gains 1,100 feet in elevation, so take your time and bring water.
Dress for the cave
Inside, temperatures stay around 45°F (7°C) year-round, so bring a jacket even on hot summer days.
Reserve your tour in advance
Cave tours are required to enter and can sell out quickly, especially during peak season.
Follow cave conservation rules
To protect delicate formations and prevent the spread of White-Nose Syndrome in bats, avoid touching surfaces and wear clean clothing not previously used in other caves.
